inhale the happiness

gala night was amazing, i really enjoyed myself although the view was pretty much crappy from lvl three. can't help but laugh when i think of what Kelvin Yau told me "when i stand up and look down, it's damm scary i feel like shitting on my pants" hahaha i have no idea how and why someone so tall like him will be afraid of heights, strange.

supper with my fav pals in the world at St James <3 much needed quality time spent tgt with this awesome group of friends. from the lovely jazz music to the good food to the weird prank to the spilling of milo on expensive jeans to the peculiar drunk fight. amazing night!

hooray to the weekends, boohoo to the start of exams on Monday and of course i'm EXTREMELY UNENTHUSIASTIC ABT CHINESE O'S THE FOLLOWING MONDAY :'( and for the first time this year, i'm going to sleep in on a saturday. goodnight all, i hope your Friday was as incredible as mine x

Happy mothers' day to all the wonderful mummy's out thr, you guys are greatly appreciated and loved! To my one and only mo mo, thank you for being my sunshine and my pillar of strength! For mothers' day this year, i was pondering hard, what's the perfect gift for my mother? so after much thoughts, i've decided that i shall get her a small gift and prepare dinner for my family! and i shall very gladly share with all of you guys what i made today (recipe included), haha

menu for mothers' day dinner at the ongsters

Starter - Pork (bacon) wrapped asparagus
Main course - Hawaiian bake rice
Dessert - ROYCE nama chocolate

that was the final product, and here is the recipe!

Pork (bacon) wrapped asparagus

Ingredients:

1 pack of asparagus
200g of bacon

Directions:

1) cut the asparagus

2) pan fry the bacon

alternatively, you can just put it in the toaster for 10-15 mins to make it crispier!

yum?

carefully wrap the bacon around the asparagus and poke a toothpick/ satay stick through to make it intact and TADAHHHHH, you're done!

uhm i guess it's really yummier than it looks lol

Hawaiian baked rice

Ingredients:

(serves 4-6)

1 1/2 cups uncooked rice
Water to cook rice
5 garlic cloves
1 1/2 cup pineapple chunks (canned or fresh)
2 to 3 slices of ham, cut to small squares
15g butter (or use olive oil for healthier version)
generous tablespoons mushroom soup (I use Campbell’s, straight from the can – no need to mix with water or cook)
Shredded Mozzarella Cheese (about 150g)
Shredded Cheddar Cheese (about 150g)
Salt & Pepper
 Parsley (garnishing) - optional

Directions:

1) Add desired amount of rice, wash and rinse uncooked rice until water runs clear

2) In a heated wok or saucepan, melt the butter. Add the washed rice, salt and black pepper to taste. stir well.

3) Wait for the rice mixture to cool, then transfer to a rice cooker. Add the garlic cloves. Add water to cook rice (adjust the water amount according to your cooker)

4) slice the ham and pineapples!

5) When the rice is cooked, stir in the pineapples and sliced ham, you can save some for toppings. Portion out the rice into oven-safe baking dishes (you can also use disposable aluminum tray)

6) Smear some mushroom soup sauce on top of the rice, and topped with a layer of shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese

7) Baked in a pre-heated oven at 200C (329F) for about 20 - 25 mins, or until all the cheese has melted and is very slightly browned. garnish with parsley if desired!

If you follow all of these instructions, it should taste fine! I shall rate it 3.5/5!

maccha nama chocolate from Royce, yum

dinner was finally served after a long one and a half hours, my family loved it so i guess my efforts paid off :-) sorry for the lack of updates, chinese O's in two weeks, fuuuuuu ok goodnight
